that's impressive!

That's sad.

You are doing what the local press can't and won't. Kudos to you

If only you adhered to the standard journalistic practices instead of inflammatory mischaracterization of just about every fact, you'd be bigger than Woodward and Bernstein ever were!
You're fun to read but you're no more a source for facts than Disney's Magic Kingdom is for advice on life.

It is sad. There are currently 74 posts. That’s 71 more than there should have been. The PRPD/SSI/Senior Center problem began as an easily solved political problem. I have discussed early solutions within various post. We are where we’re at because the Park Ridge Park Board put us here; period!

Sad indeed!

September 27, 2012 7:10 PM,

What “standard journalistic practices” are you referring to? The use of double source? I do that. The use and presentation of official documents to support my discussion? I do that. The writing of articles from Board supplied notes or “Press Releases”? Sorry, don’t do that!

What mischaracterization are you referring to?

And I’m sorry you don’t consider Park District supplied facts as valid and worthy of you consideration.

No, your publishing of the many FOIA'd documents is a public service that makes the Park District look rational and well intentioned -- it's just the completely erroneous andcontradictory "explanations" you provide for each document that fails the basic fair journalism test. Not that anybody cares; I understand. Let's just stick with, "it's a lot of fun to read."

Your words (inflammatory mischaracterization of just about every fact) apply to every blog in town, not to mention other blogs and cable news.

They all tend to throw red meat to the base.

Anon: September 28, 2012 3:20 PM,

I’m glad you find my FOIA’d documents a “public service”. However, I fail to see your point regarding this comment: “completely erroneous and contradictory "explanations" you provide for each document that fails the basic fair journalism test.” Maybe you can find it in your heart to provide examples so I might mend my ways.

Can you also explain that “basic fair journalism test” thing?

Also, for the record, I’m not a journalist; I’m a blogger and my content is opinion; entirely different set of standards.

Finally, I’m glad you are having fun reading what I produce. I write it just for you, you know!

“Inflammatory Mischaracterization”: (“Tending to arouse anger, hostility, passion, etc.” + “The act of characterizing something in an inaccurate or misleading way”).

Was that conjunction what you really meant to say about: “every blog in town, not to mention other blogs and cable news”; and that each tends to “throw red meat to the base”?

I would hope not. That would make you more jaded than me; and we wouldn’t want that!

Thank you Ken Butterly for saying what the newspaper fail to print. The Truth!!!

Whoever would have thought your very neutral comment regarding the activity on this blog would continue to expose so many of those who 'never played well with others.' Appears they grew up exemplifying the same traits. Who does not remember those kids. Who could not name those adults?

Wonderful it appears to be 1/3 or fewer of the players, though they exclaim more than 1/3 of the negative curt language.

Indeed, the development of technology and the opportunity so many have to access information in a variety of ways can only be a positive direction.
