Seniors - Stay Young at Heart!

Fairy tales can come true – it can happen to you – if you’re young at heart…

I first heard that opening refrain some 50 plus years ago.   If you’ve forgotten the song take a moment to reacquaint yourself with its valuable lyrics.

Moving toward maturity…

Unfortunately for me, it was at the time, just another song among dozens of other songs my family would sing at holiday-family parties.  Ah,  misspent youth!

Over the years however, as I continued to lose family and friends, the lyrics took on a deeper meaning and importance to me.

Take a moment to listen once again.

Bad Strategy – Poor Leadership

It’s been a difficult year for members of PRPD’s Senior Center; a year of upset and loss.  This sorry story, with its resultant turmoil and angst could have been easily avoided had PRPD management, including recent and current Board Leaders just taken this advice…

Life’s train long ago left the station.

So, now that the battle is over it’s time to sit back and see what happens. It’s time to experience the newCenterand time to reevaluate your relationship with the Park Ridge Park District.  Some of you, like me, have already reevaluated and will move on.  Some of you have already changed your Wills to reflect your change of heart and others are doing the same as I write this post.

Yes, life’s train has left the station but you my friends, are not yet at your final destination.  And that is something to be joyous about, don’t you think?

So, it’s time to focus once again on what’s truly important.

May you have a Young at Heart New Year!

As always, it’s just my opinion!

Yes, the train has left the station and as we move on everyone knows that things will never be the same. For starters, no Follies or Variety Show. The Park District will never find someone with the talent to pull things like that together. Teresa had everything in place for the next 3 months. Let's just see what the Park District comes up with. I sure wouldn't want to be the person who has to follow Teresa. That's like a dog show trying to follow Bob Hope.

As to the article "Grodsky Plans Own Retirment" by Jennifer Johnson, Oh Hum. She is nothing but the Park Board mouth piece. She has never written a single thing without bias. Very poor, amateurish reporting, and I know from whence I speak. I come from a very long line of professional reporters/writers. And the newspapers were the Chicago Tribune and New York Times, with their own By Lines, not the Park Ridge Advocate. She can believe what she wants to. Those of us who really know what's going on, know that Teresa is under a gag order.

On that subject, Bob Trinza never answered the comment on his blog about the Park Board going into closed session to discuss the termination of a Park Board employee. Very few people are at the level that would require that type of action/discussion and no other Pk Dist employee has been fired. Simple deduction - it had to be Teresa. Of course, the Park Board isn't into transparency, so we'll all be dead when that closed session comes to light.
